Terrarium

A two-player ecological diagnosis game using real species, time, and asymmetric information for shared reasoning.

Terrarium splits a micro-ecosystem into two perspectives. One player sees more species behaviour, the other more environmental data. They exchange observations, form hypotheses, and choose interventions together while the system continues to change.

Current focus

The project is developing its “living world”: real species relationships, resource movement, effects across phases, and an outcome view that separates an intervention from a trend already in motion. A prediction does not reveal the answer; it asks players to state evidence and verify it in later states.

Cooperative structure

Asymmetric information does not make one player the commander. Each side can form a judgement, yet needs the other perspective to become confident enough to act. The game is less interested in who knows more than in how two partial views become a useful shared understanding.
